Getting Around Breckenridge

No Car? That is not a problem at all!!!

Most accommodations in Breck offer their very own shuttle service included with your rental. If not, chances are very likely that a Breckenridge Free Ride stop is very close by. Getting around Breckenridge without a car is actually quite easy!

Check out the Breck Free Ride routes and schedules HERE.

Wanting to venture outside of Breck to the neighboring towns and resorts? No problem! There is a free county-wide bus system called the Summit Stage.

There are also several private shuttle services that serve Summit and the surrounding areas. Most are linked in my blog, “Getting to Breckenridge” under “Private Transportation Services”

Uber and Lyft also service Summit County including Breck, however there seems to be more of a need than the drivers we have can fulfill, so you should not depend 100% on this as an option.

Breck began a new E-Ride Bike Share program in 2023. This program is designated for people needing to get around Breck for a period of 30 mins or less and aimed towards those requiring one way travel.

Depending the time of year, time of day, where your accommodation is located, and where you are trying to travel to the BreckConnect Gondola might just be another great free transportation option for you! BreckConnect does just that! It connects Downtown Breckenridge with Breckenridge Resort: The base of both Peak 7 (Including Grand Lodge and Pioneer Crossing Lodge) and Peak 8, and the luxury neighborhood of Shock Hill during the summer months and throughout the ski season. Breck Resort manages the operations of the BreckConnect Gondola so check their website for up to date schedules and information. Hours of operation vary and the gondola closes and does not run or offer any service in late spring and early fall.

Parking in Breckenridge

Nearly all parking in Breckenridge within a few blocks of Main Street is Pay to Park. Parking near the town core of Breckenridge also tends to be a challenge to find, especially on weekends and over holiday breaks.

Don’t assume your accommodation offers adequate parking for your needs. Check with your accommodation regarding parking availability and details and restrictions prior to booking if you plan to have a vehicle.

More details on paid short term downtown parking in Breck can be located HERE.

More information on paid parking lots and parking tips and cost can be found HERE.
