Rainy Day Activities - Summit County, Colorado

Even paradise has gloomy days, but I have some great news for you! There are plenty of things to keep you entertained here in Summit County, Colorado even when the weather isn’t cooperating or if you simply just need a break from the sun.

Escape the gloomy day and immerse yourself in a fully interactive puzzle at one of three area escape room locations.

Feeling creative? Both The Sunnyside Up Studio and Frosted Flamingo offer a wide variety of art kits to-go!

Or take this opportunity to learn. Venture underground with the family at Country Boy Mine or enjoy hands-on interactive exhibits for kids of all ages at Mountain Top Children’s Museum. Is time travel more your thing? Visit Frisco Historic Park & Museum’s mini history museums for a self guided glimpse into the history of Summit County’s.

Indoor recreation opportunities abound! Breck and Silverthorne Rec Centers both offer indoor open swim at their fun and diverse pools! The Breck Rec also offers indoor rock climbing, and racquetball. Check out their websites to learn more about fitness class options, gym space, schedules, and rates. Stephen C. West Ice Arena is home to two rinks and offers daily open ice skating including skate rental while Keystone and Breckenridge both have indoor tennis centers. Do you have young kids? Check out Dillon’s nature themed inside play area, Wild and Free, or knock down some pins, or shoot some pool with your friends or family at the local bowling alley. Summit County is up on the latest trends too. On Frisco's Main Street you can find a bar dedicated to Pinball & Pool as well as Indoor Axe Throwing!

Looking to be entertained while relaxing at the same time? Why not take in a movie or theater production at one of our movie or performing art theaters?

Visit a brewery, distillery, or winery or go on a self guided tasting tour. These establishments are kid and family friendly and several even offer a wide array of card and board games for you to play while you’re sipping on your beverage, so even any non drinkers in your group are bound to have a good time. Is trivia more your thing? Several breweries and local bars host weekly trivia nights including prizes for the winners. And remember! Take advantage of our free countywide bus service so you and your group don’t have to worry about getting home safely.

Live music is always an option! We have several paid and free concert venues throughout the county. On top of that many of our local bars and restaurants offer live music throughout each week with no cover charge!

And finally, I can’t think of a better way to spend a rainy day than with some much deserved self care. Take a yoga class, get a mani pedi, a facial treatment or massage or really treat yourself and spend your whole day at the spa!
